Top U.S. Poker Player Turns Down Big Stakes Game With Rich Brazilian Businessman

One of the best all-time professional poker players in the world (who shall go unnamed, due to his request) is now semi-retired. He splits up his time between his custom-designed, 7-room Swiss Chalet... and traveling the country, teaching people how to become a success so they can also accomplish great things.

Several years back, one of his backers approached him with an offer. There was a Brazilian businessman who wanted to play him. For big money!

While this poker player loves poker and will play with anyone, he refused the challenge... at first. He didn't want to play him for the amount put on the table. But, his backer kept persisting, and then eventually started pleading.

Finally, this poker player gave in. His backer was a friend, after all. The game was set up in a plush hotel in Monte Carlo.

The American poker player did pretty well for the first three hours. Red chips piled up, and then the blue chips. Then boom! The Brazilian started playing like a wild man, and threw the American's game off kilter. By the end of the evening, the Brazilian had won the big pot.

The American poker player was disgusted that he had been wheedled into breaking one of his first rules of the game. It's a rule that he says applies to winning at poker, and winning at investing. For that matter, it's a good rule of life!

It's a simple rule, but one that's easy to forget:

You want to win?
Know the players in the game!

When the stakes matter, you've got to know the players. When playing in the "alternative" investments arena, just like poker, you've got to KNOW who is holding the cards, and how they intend to play them. That's how you win consistently.

With the right amount of time, effort, creative sleuthing, and very same passion for what we're doing here, I'm sure you could come across some profit opportunities and similar money-making avenues, yet...
